Something went wrong setting up Endless OS

Good day Endless Team.
Can someone help me for this case?

Hi there,

In the folder where you downloaded and ran the Endless OS Installer, you should see a log file (its filename will be something like EndlessInstaller<date>.log) Can you attach it here? If there’s more than one EndlessInstaller log file, please attach them all.

katanya .,… Coba Lagi :slight_smile:

kaya nyari huruf N permen karet yosan :joy:

Sorry, new users can not upload attachments. What I have to do?

That’s annoying; I’ll ask the people who run this site to change that.

Can you upload the log to a pastebin site like fpaste and post the link here?

sure, please download at https://www.sendspace.com/file/s0eon4
just click “DOWNLOAD” above “Save to My Account”

Thanks, got it. The log file is actually too big even for me to attach here! Again, I’ve asked our forum administrators to change this setting…

Unfortunately, the way your computer is partitioned makes it impossible for us to install Endless OS at the moment, and I cannot suggest a workaround. :frowning: It’s possible we’ll be able to make changes in the next version of Endless OS that will allow you to install it, but I can’t guarantee it.

(The first partition starts at 32256 bytes; one of the 512-byte sectors before that is used for “FlexNet” licensing software and another is the MBR, leaving us only 31232 bytes to install the Endless OS bootloader, which is 31379 bytes: there’s not enough space.)

I see, thank you for your help. So. can I install EOS on a new fresh hard drive?
I don’t know how, but, can I expand to get more space?

can I install EOS on a new fresh hard drive?

If you click the “advanced options” link on the first page of the installer, you can choose “Create Reflasher USB” to make a bootable USB stick you can use to install Endless OS on a fresh hard drive (destroying whatever else is on that hard drive). If you do this, take extra care to select the correct hard drive (and USB stick, while you’re creating it!) and make sure you have recent backups. Accidents happen!

You could also create a Live USB from the same page, which would let you try out Endless OS from a USB stick without risking any data (except what was on the USB stick before!).

can I expand to get more space?

Not easily, unfortunately. The problem is not the amount of free space on your hard disk: it is the layout of partitions on the disk, and it’s not really feasible to change that.

I’m afraid this is the same problem as discussed above:

There’s no workaround at present, but in a future release of Endless OS we hope to switch to a different boot mechanism (chainloading GRUB from the Windows loader, rather than the other way round) which should avoid this problem. I can’t give a good estimate of when that will be, though.

I am also having same problem and i have used endless from pendrive. It works with the Pendrive but when I install it in the Harddrive through the installer in windows it does not get installed and show the same error as mentioned above.
Please prevent this problem as soon as possible we all are very curious to use such an amazing window.
So i request u to kindly release the updated version ENDLESS OS as soon as possible. :grinning:

@SUNNY_THAKUR this is a known problem, discussed above. There’s not enough space before the first partition on your hard disk. Unfortunately there is no workaround at present, but we hope to change the way that we install the Endless OS bootloader to fix this in future.

@SUHAIL_AHMAD_BHAT same problem, I’m afraid.

@chandraarnav Same again, I’m afraid.
