Unfortunately there was problem with connecting with server

So is this something that needs to be looked into (windows side) to allow for ease of use ? or am I mistaken ?

@mhall119 Let me know if this is an impossible task - as this thread seems to have formed into a stumbling block.

Ultimately, I guess i am asking for the Linux bug that shall solve this ?

Please don’t report that as a bug on bugzilla.kernel.org…

It’s 100% not a bug. I’m sorry this must be hard for some to understand. There is no software to run your hardware that respects your freedom and the endless teams freedom. Simple as that.

They can’t make your hardware work because the proprietor won’t let them do it securely, or legally. You should voice your upset over this to the company that makes your hardware.

Once again please don’t report a bug on bugzilla.kernel.org that your hardware such as broadcom b43 doesn’t work, it will probably frustrate the devs and some of the developers are EXTREMELY harsh.

@jimmybot right-oh message understood this end.

sorry if I caused any consternation.

What’s needed is a way to add drivers to Endless OS after installation, so you can install 3rd party close source drivers. With our unique OSTree & Flatpak setup this is going to require some new engineering work to accomplish. It’s something we know we need, but in the past we’ve been mostly shipping with OEM partner and not direct downloads of the OS, so hasn’t been as big of a priority until now.

Actually that windows side bug was solved but still wifi not working , i
saw 80-90% models in between 800 to 1000$ -1500$ means higher range models
and middle range models having same wifi b43 in leptops.so in majority of ,
i saw ppls shouting and shouting for get working wifi in endless but that
leads to messup and support community says we dont allow this hardware .So
what is use of this os , doesnt allow to use primary drivers so in the end
i can tell honestly to endless , they already lost 40%customers maybe in
feature , they can lose upto 50-60% if they did’nt updated driver .So they
want to sell their egg type devices is not sold in feature in majority. So
here nor loss is mine ,all loss is beetling over endless.
In this case when i saw first time that devices as cheap so i decided to
buy it.But after i installed this os in my leptop , i decided not to buy it.
Because i work 18hour on my this leptop , and funny talk here is some of
learning apps like matlab , autocads(maya , cad 2017 abd others) and other
many softwares i can’t install in it .So here my freedom was gone totally
.They send me link of blender and 2dcad but i am not aware of this.In case
blender needs coding sometimes to build necesary packages that blender
allowed to install in linux coming with.tar.gz formate. However that extra
packages i cant install in it.So this os is headache for me and they says
this os is for learner that crap sentence still bugging my ears when i
heared it first time.

I agree that proprietary drivers should be option after installation ~ but the power actually comes from
“description of drivers and their compatibility review/s on various hardware by those who’ve tried them”

… not only is this empowering for the users uncertain of how these drivers may or may-not enable further hardware optimization.

but also it is good feedback for the hardware vendors etc - and is the real power of open-source or as @jonobacon would say; innersource.

@mhall119 How would you inform people of their REAL options in this regard ?
as you have a real opportunity to put users in the KnowHow :endless: endlessly.
